Columbus day

Columbus day is a public holiday in many parts of the United states, but is not a day off in some states. Christopher Columbus is often portrayed as the first European to sail to the Americans. There is evidence that the first Europeans to sail across the Atlantic were Viking explorers from Scandinavia. Columbus day is one of America's most inconsistently celebrated holidays. Reflection: I feel like it’s not fair that Christopher Columbus is getting all the credit because when clearly people have already discovered it before him.I think they should thank the native Americans because they were the ones who discovered it first.
